Four years after The Cloven Viscount, the group show to which we'd invited Jean-Charles de Quillacq, we are reconnecting with him again as if reviving ties with a family member who's been away but remains a part of us. There probably is a common DNA binding Marcelle Alix to this artist; it pushes us to search for the similar in all of us, whatever our identities, affiliations, opinions or origins may be: an internal community, one made of guts and mucous membranes from which we can practice the compassion and kindness we seek, again and again.
